Astrophotography: A Beginner’s Guide to Getting Started! image

Ever wonder just how those marvelous color photographs of objects in our universe are created? Astrophotography is a specialized type of photography for recording photos of astronomy that include celestial events, astronomical objects, and the night sky! You will unlock the secrets behind professional astrophotography. Combining astronomy and digital photography is both a technological and artistic challenge. You will learn what it takes to meet those challenges and take your own pictures of the universe! You will explore some general aspects of astrophotography and basic cosmology by gaining a general understanding of telescopes and digital photography. This class includes a real time virtual imaging session at a local observatory.


PRE-REGISTRATION: By choosing to pre-register for this course, you are committing to paying the course fee of $110.00. If we receive enough students to run the course, students will then be invoiced for the course fee. 


Continuing Education understands the needs of all students and would like to engage all learners as much as possible. If you are interested in this class offering, but are not comfortable coming to campus due to COVID-19, you now have the option to Zoom into our class!

How will that work? You will join the class from the safety (and comfort) of your own home computer, laptop, notebook, or even phone and log into our on-campus at the regularly scheduled times. You will be able to see and interact with your instructors and students. A Zoom tutorial will be available to you prior to the class start so that you can feel comfortable using the Zoom application; our students have found it to be very user-friendly!
