UWM at Washington Co & Waukesha Continuing Education has partnered with GSK Science in the Summer and the Franklin Institute to offer a FREE, two-hour STEM program to our community!
Designed for students, grades 2-6
This summer, your child is invited to play the role of a scientist—a biologist—to explore basic concepts of biology and solve a real-world problem.
Welcome to GSK Science in the Summer, brought to you in partnership between GSK and The Franklin Institute and UW-Milwaukee at Washington County & Waukesha Continuing Education.
This summer science program aims to inspire the next generation of biologist by inviting children to experience real science careers by practicing science skills and using real science tools—all while having fun!
Students will enjoy a 2-hour workshops where they will participate in two activities to take a peek into the world of biology!
Virtual sessions will be split into three parts:
Part 1: Your student will need to have their supply kit before the first session. During this session, we will go through all the supplies in the kit and explain the instructions. We will also do some activities that will begin stimulate their minds into thinking like an engineer.
Part 2: Families will complete the two engineering activities on their own after receiving the instructions.
Part 3: Your student should have completed their GSK project before this session. In this session, we will go through their projects and discuss their challenges and successes during the experience.
Families will be required to pick up supply kits during designated times at our Waukesha Campus (1500 N University Dr, Waukesha 53188) during the times listed below:
- Thursday, June 23; 10am-noon OR 1pm-3pm
